Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Dannielle Nelson, DNP, PMHNP-BC
I provide compassionate, individualized psychiatric care for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, and life transitions.
With nearly two decades of experience in psychiatric mental health nursing, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals and families through life's challenges. My passion for mental health care and commitment to lifelong learning led me to earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from The College of St. Scholastica in 2018, specializing in psychiatric mental health.
My approach combines evidence-based treatment, thoughtful medication management, and supportive therapy within a collaborative and trusting relationship. I believe mental health is influenced by the interconnected physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives. Lasting healing begins by understanding the whole person—not just symptoms, but also the
experiences, relationships, values, and strengths that shape overall wellbeing.
I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we develop personalized treatment plans that support healing, resilience, and meaningful growth.
On a personal note, I am a wife and proud mother of three daughters. I am also a breast cancer survivor, a journey that deepened my appreciation for resilience, hope, and the strength that can emerge through life's most difficult seasons. My faith has been an important source of strength and perspective throughout my life and continues to shape the compassion, empathy, and hope I bring to my work.
It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families as they pursue healing, renewed hope,
and lasting wellness.

Treatment Philosophy

I believe effective mental health care begins with a genuine partnership between provider and
patient. My goal is to provide personalized, evidence-based care in a supportive environment where each person feels seen, heard, and respected.
Whether treatment includes medication management, therapeutic support, lifestyle
interventions, or a combination of approaches, I work collaboratively with patients to create a
plan that aligns with their goals, values, and unique needs. Together, we focus on fostering
mental wellness, resilience, and hope for the future.
